Puppetry Workshops, Theater Camps & Acting Classes
Puppets on the Go
Make your very own puppet! A rod puppet or hand puppet can be made in this one hour workshop. We provide supplies, models and guidance, and bring it all to your classroom or scout meeting. We always tie into your curriculum. These workshops are affordable and educational. Our "Puppets on the Go" program has been tailored exclusively for scout troops. We come to your scout meeting and each scout creates a puppet, learns about puppet movement and participates in a “fun for all” team activity.
Honing Acting Skills through Camps & Classes
Lisa Jorgensen Albright, founder and artistic director of Piccadilly Productions, leads a summer youth theater camp in Louisburg, Kan., and teaches acting classes for youth thespians. The camps and classes provide acting exercises and performance opportunities founded on a mission to encourage imagination through theater, storytelling and puppetry for the young at heart. The company operates on the basic philosophy that theater is an ever-changing concept, and that it should be for everyone.
Developing Writing Skills through Puppetry
Lisa Jorgensen Albright, founder and artistic director of Piccadilly Productions, has developed a workshop that helps teachers incorporate the arts into their curriculum. The workshop provides hands-on activities that can be used in the classroom to teach reading, writing, teamwork, and theater arts. This is designed to be a three-hour workshop but can be changed to accompodate your needs.
Artist in Residencies through Missouri Arts Council
There is no better way to make an impact on a student than a residency which can last one week up to one month. A residency consists of 4 classes a day and can be for a target group or an entire school. The workshops help teachers incorporate the arts into their curriculum. The residency provides hands-on activities that can be used in the classroom to teach reading, writing, teamwork, and theater arts.
Community Arts Projects
We can come into your community and build huge puppets that can be used in the classroom, for a parade, or a life-size sculpture. Teamwork, arts, and skills that can be used for a life time are taught in these community arts project programs.
